Nishat Thank you!

Jeanette Know all your street names well from the 30's to 127th, except for Mango. LOL! I have to give my ex-MIL this book. She lived at Pershing (31st St. South and just east of Kedzie)for about 65 of her 80 plus years. My son lives on Keeler today. Being a hard, critical reader for Chicago placed books, I will give this one a try. Excellent review.

Then you will connect to the book more than I could ever do, since I live in the other side of the planet. Thanks by the way. :)

Eric M. I liked the way you used the quote "I make a story for my life, for each step my brown shoe takes." Also how you described Esperanza and her personality and I can agree with you that it is an awe-inspiring writing with a powerful message.
