message 1: by Jaksen (new)

Jaksen Sounds sort of like animal cartoon characters owning dogs or eating turkey at Thanksgiving. Even as a kid this bothered me. Like Goofy is a dog, right, but he wears clothes and talks. Then why can't Pluto do the same thing? But no, he's a dog-dog and has a dog collar, no clothes and lives in a doghouse.

Or please tell me why Donald Duck can be shown carving a turkey at Christmas, or why Mickey and Donald are about the same size? (Ducks are generally larger than mice.)

The cartoon laws of reality, like characters in many children's books, are tres, tres strange, I guess. More than a little off-center.

Wow, this really creeps me out, Jaksen. o.O

I didn't try any, but other reviews say the peppermint brownies are amazing! There's one for cupcakes, one for marzipan... one for raspberry squares, I think. I don't have the book anymore, it's back at the library, so I'm just going by memory here.

Carmen Well, he is best friends with Woodstock. Eating a bird would be considered bad taste, I'd think.

Carmen We can only hope!

I'll look for it next time I'm at the library. (Btw, you can make awesome peppermint brownies by adding chopped-up peppermint patties or crushed candy canes to your favorite brownie recipe or mix.)

Carmen LOL I doubt this book would be able to teach YOU about brownie-baking, Deborah Markus! More like you could give the book some instructions. ;)

mark monday there's a Kentucky Fried Chicken near my work. one of the things I hate the most in life is walking by it and seeing pigeons pecking at the chicken pieces discarded in the gutter next to it. I want to make them stop doing that, it's just not right! LOL

Carmen *shudder* That's awful, Mark.
