Lee Daniel In Narcotics Anonymous, what is contained in this book is considered and called a "war story." War stories are boring as fuck. And like you alluded to, this story is completely impossible due to the fact that the narrator would have died of an overdose 10 pages in.

Alex Ha - I didn't know there was a term for those, but you're right, they're the most boring thing in the world. (Usually. Honestly, I think Thompson does a pretty good job of it as these things go.)

Lee Daniel He does, truth be told, however I felt/feel that none of them ever wove together to form anything other than a war story; no grand revelations about the era, or humanity itself, nor many great turns of phrases or uses of language. But anyways, great review, you hit the nail on the head for me.

Alex Yeah, totally. I guess that's it, huh? It's one of the world's best war stories, and nothing else, and the world's best war story is still only four stars tops. Thanks!
