Tanya (Girl Plus Books) I think I sobbed through the last 50 pages. A tough read, but so worth it.

Aestas Book Blog I am LOVING it!!!

message 6: by Tara (new)

Tara Can't wait to start this one!

message 7: by Kiesha (new)

Kiesha I just bought my copy. I can't wait to start!

message 8: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina Okay. I'm trusting you and slapping $13 for this digi. I don't usually spend that on kindles, but you have yet to steer me wrong.

Aestas Book Blog I'm 60% in now and loving it! Like I said, its different than my usual style of read because it has a love story in it, but that's not the sole focus of the book. But the writing is stunning, the story is powerful, and i'm totally captivated so I'm loving it!

message 10: by Rachel (new)

Rachel I am so glad honey! I see your comment about it making you feel almost as much as The Bronze Horseman. I would have loved to read that series if not for my triggers, so I am hoping this one is safe so I can get something similar that's safe :D

message 11: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina Starting this as soon as I finish Bright Side. Looking forward to it!

message 12: by raji (new)

raji sanjeev nice

message 13: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa Oooh, you had me at WWII!

message 14: by Amanda (new)

Amanda I gotta tell you, I have never ever been able to read a historical novel, it just doesn't do it for me. But you and I were born with the exact same taste in books somehow and you've never steered me wrong before, so its officially next on my To-Read list!

message 15: by Aestas Book Blog (last edited Mar 10, 2015 09:33AM) (new)

Aestas Book Blog Amanda - check this one out. It's my #1 favorite book EVER: aestasbookblog.com/thebronzehorseman-...

message 16: by Amanda (new)

Amanda I actually have that book on my Kindle already. I got it when you posted about it being on sale a little bit ago. I know you've posted about it being your favorite so I figured I would like it, but I haven't started it yet for the same reason. I really have liked probably every single book you've 5 starred or recommended so in my head I know I will like it, but I just haven't picked it up to read yet. This is my motivation to do it!! These are the next 2 books for me :) (Ok, after I read Confess by Colleen Hoover LOL)

message 17: by Aestas Book Blog (new)

Aestas Book Blog Definitely read TBH!!!! It's just.... beyond words! <3

message 18: by Andrea (Dre) (new)

Andrea (Dre) I love Kristen Hannah!! She is one of my favorite authors. You should definitely read Firefly Lane and Night Road when you get a chance.

message 19: by Laura (new)

Laura I haven't read her since Firefly Lane. Took me a long time to get over that book.

message 20: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany If you haven't read Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah, you really should. Winter Garden is another historical fiction book with similar feel to The Bronze Horseman.

message 21: by animalhouse (new)

animalhouse I've read the Winter Garden and enjoyed it, but The Bronze Horseman still remains my absolute #1 favorite. Based on your review, this sounds amazing. I know you loved TBH too, so how would you rate The Nightingale next to it?

message 22: by Aestas Book Blog (new)

Aestas Book Blog I don't actually rate any book "next to" The Bronze Horseman because I have TBH as my one and only 10 STAR. It's above and beyond for me and I don't have any other book/series in that rating category. As such, I dont compare books to it, because that's not fair.

The rest of my books, I rate out of 5 stars. And I give The Nightingale a solid 5 stars :) Hopefully that makes sense.

message 23: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa I read TBH a long while back after seeing your review, and OMG. I have all the books in different covers and formats like a shrine on my bookshelf. lol. I'm so in love with the series and no other book has yet to touch it.

message 24: by Aestas Book Blog (new)

Aestas Book Blog that's exactly how i feel too!!

message 25: by Amy Johnson (new)

Amy Johnson I love Kristin Hannah!

message 27: by Marina (new)

Marina Clicked!!! Definitely just moved this one to the Top of my List! Those are some magic words..similar to TBH!

message 28: by AJ (new)

AJ Wow! I'm definitely sold. Can't wait to get stuck into this!!! Amazing review, my friend!

message 29: by Miz (new)

Miz You should add her book 'Home Front' to your read list in light of your review :)

message 30: by Jennie (new)

Jennie Kristin, such a huge fan of you and your books. You have helped me through some hard times!! The Nightingale is truly one of the best written, emotionally driven works I have ever read. I have read that it is going to be a movie, I am so pumped. Would you be willing for some casting ideas? I've put a lot of thought into many of them!! Love your work, I anxiously await every book!!

message 31: by Patty (new)

Patty Holy WOW is right. At times, my eyes filled with tears. Other times, my usually stoic self sobbed. Thanks for putting into words my reaction to this powerful novel by a beautiful author. It must have taken great courage to write this powerful book.

message 32: by Nancy (new)

Nancy I wasn't sure whether I could read this book because I feel that things are not going to end well for the characters in this sort of setting but I will now after your review. TBH trilogy are my favourite books of all time.

message 33: by Aestas Book Blog (new)

Aestas Book Blog Wow, sorry I missed all your comments guys!! So glad so many of you loved it! And I hope the rest of you give it a shot! It's such a beautiful story <3

message 34: by Paula (new)

Paula I too had a hard time doing anything else while reading this book. I loved it, and love your review of it.

message 35: by Aestas Book Blog (new)

Aestas Book Blog Thanks, Paula!!

message 36: by Laurette (new)

Laurette Long Great review, wonder if anyone managed to get through the book without being in floods of tears. The last time I sobbed and sniffed so much was after reading 'Me Before You' Jojo Moyes - am sure most of you will know that one!

message 37: by Kevin McHugh (new)

Kevin McHugh I couldn't put it down. You can tell so much research went into this. Not an easy subject to write about or read about but it happened and it's important not to forget.

message 38: by Denise (new)

Denise I'm now a fan of Kristin Hannah after reading The Nightingale and will read her other books.

message 39: by Maria (new)

message 43: by Ramona Bryant (new)

Ramona Bryant I like that book

message 44: by Kezia (new)

Kezia Wallace I am about half-way through and already agree wholeheartedly, some books are just so beautifully written. And when I was reading your review and you mentioned The Bronze Horseman I just thought 'yes'. It's one of my favourite books of all time and The Nightingale is similar (in a non-similar way). Speaking of books so beautifully written and set in the same era, I highly recommend 'All the light we cannot see' by Anthony Doerr.

message 45: by Tricia Ann (new)

Tricia Ann I was wondering about Gaetan and Isabelle at the end of this story. Thank you for clearing it up for me about Isabelle death, their daughter and Gaetans undying love for her.

message 46: by Sumedha (new)

Sumedha Love the review! I think this book was a good representation of war without being overly graphic.
