message 2: by Lola (new)

Lola Me too, Nora, me too...

message 3: by Nora (new)

Nora Especially after reading throne of glass . . . it is literally going to be painful for me to wait all the way to May 2015. Sigh:(

✘✘ Sarah ✘✘ (former Nefarious Breeder of Murderous Crustaceans) To think I haven't even gotten to Throne of Glass yet!

For shame! :)

message 6: by Lola (new)

Lola Nora: I agree!! However, I still have books to read in that series so I shall get myself occupied until then :P

Sarah: Whaaaat? Well, I hope you will try it sometime, because it is pretty worth it :)

Yes so do I - in fact I just recently bought Throne of Glass but now it's a new favorite or me:)

I will I will, it's right at the top of my wishlist! I'll probably get to it before the end of the year :-)

message 9: by Lola (new)

Lola I hope you enjoy, Sarah!! :D

message 10: by Brigid (new)

Brigid this sounds very familiar to an irish fairy tale I read. Who is also named Tamlin, oddly.

message 11: by Lola (new)

Lola Maybe it was the author's inspiration :)

message 12: by Brigid (new)

Brigid probably, which now makes me want to read it even though I didn't like her debut.

You didn't? :(

Brigid I rage hated it, if I'm being truthful. But I've heard the second is better for people who didn't like the first. Thus, I'm thinking about picking up the 2nd.

That's sad, what was your main complaint on it? Just wondering:)

message 16: by Brigid (new)

Brigid lots of things. But mainly, I did not like the heroine. If there's any one thing I had to choose, it was that the heroine expected the reader to just take her word for it: that she was a badass chick. There was no proof for me to buy into this assertion on her part. Plus, there was slut shaming which I tend to be picky about.

message 17: by Nora (new)

Nora Yes I see . . . I still really enjoyed and I'm sorry you didn't:(

message 18: by Lola (new)

Lola I think I understand what you're saying, Brigid. That's too bad though, to not like the heroine. It's one of the most important elements in a book, for me.

message 19: by Kuroi (new)

Lola That's really nice, thank you :D I know that you prefer contemporary? At least that's what I see you reading so I understand why it's probably not your thing :)

Dali Lola wrote: "That's really nice, thank you :D I know that you prefer contemporary? At least that's what I see you reading so I understand why it's probably not your thing :)"
I mostly read contemporary, yes. But I started out with paranormal and fantasy. There are still a few authors is those genres I continue reading. But who knows, may be next year I'll start with something else! You and a few other reviewers make it very tempting ;)
