Ashley I know nothing about this book except that Angela, Oscar and Pam read it for their snobby book club in an episode of The Office, but I just wanted to come here and say ENLISTED WAS SO GOOD. It is an absolute crime it was canceled.

Madeline AAHHH! Someone else who watched it!
You are in an exclusive club with me, my roommate, and eight other people. We're getting jackets.

Ashley Yes. Jackets!

I don't know how much you know about the cancellation, but basically the entire reason it was canceled was because the network execs didn't get it, so they didn't promote it and put it on Fridays. I can't find it now, but I read an article where the Fox president freely admitted he didn't see the appeal. He recommended ordering another season reluctantly, but was shot down by a higher-up, and because he didn't care, he didn't fight for it. On the other hand, he LOVED Brooklyn Nine-Nine (which is very funny, but not as funny as Enlisted) and supported it despite poor ratings, advertising it up the wazoo and put it on Tuesday night.

So frustrating :(

Madeline Ha! Yes, that's basically what reading Angela's Ashes is like. Three hundred pages of misery porn trying to outdo itself.
