Polynesians are, undoubtably, the most venturous people on earth. They started somewhere in Asia, possibly Taiwan, and traveled thousands of miles over 70 million square miles, discovering some 1,000 islands. There is little question that they made it as far as South America because the sweet potato, which is native to the Americas, was widespread in Polynesia when Europeans first reached the Pacific. They probably preceded Columbus, the Vikings, and the Chinese in re-discovering America. What do you know about this incredible journey?
