Harry Tomos
Harry Tomos asked Amanda Brookfield:

how much of yourself or people you know forms the characters in your books?

Amanda Brookfield The way it works for me is that someone I know, or something that happens to me can become the seed of an idea. From there the fun of making stuff up completely takes over! And even if I did have a really good go at putting a real life person into one of my novels the chances are they wouldn't recognise themselves (obvious physical descriptions aside), because we all see ourselves differently from how we are perceived.
