Becca Nelson I think you're asking the wrong question. Sometimes while reading books like this, I find myself thinking "Well, sure they were able to forgive that person or that situation, because they haven't been through [insert something here I'm bitter about]." But honestly, I don't think it works that way. I don't think it's a matter of how deep a betrayal was, or whether their life is worse than yours. I think forgiveness and reconciliation is a necessary human experience no matter how deep a betrayal or how bad you have it.
