How do you get inspired to write?

Katherine McIntyre Genuinely anything can inspire me. For Airship, it was a combination of video games and my eternal love for pirate stories. The airship route was influenced by my introduction to the steampunk scene since I fell in love with the aesthetic. By the Sea came easily because I've always thought there was something romantic about the sea and I enjoy writing and reading about fae. The only weird thing about my process is that the first line has to come naturally--I can't just sit down and force it out. The first line is pure inspiration and from there it sets the tone of the entire story for me.
