Sydney asked:

I read the original book- the cover and pictures are SO CREEPY. It was actually a really good story. (Almost immediately after finishing it, I saw the paper bear that my sister made for my mom- and it had buttons for eyes! I would scarcely go into my mom's room for weeks!) Anyway, my question is "why do they have buttons for eyes, anyway? Is it some sort of symbolism?"
