What are her special skills? Just run of the mill chemistry, or something paranormal?

Jennifer Think a female Jason Bourne/Aaron Cross. During missions, she tortures by injecting chemicals. No paranormal in this one. Although a couple places people were referred to specifically as "humans" which made me second glance that the story wasn't shifting.
Cathy Definitely not paranormal this time. I believe the "humans" references come from the fact that "Alex" has been denied any kind of normal relationships with people so she views herself as different. I loved her journey - watching her learn and develop her "human" skills.
Delta Sierra She's a professional torturer. Not making this up.
Jana No, her special skills she was recruited for from college on are developing chemical compounds. She is a molecular biologist and researcher.
Jennifer Brickner The heroine is a serious medical researcher and an expert in brain chemistry. If you're interested in a career in medicine, biochemistry or genetics, I think this a good cautionary tale on where a government job can take you. Ha! Ha! Violent life lesson.
