Goodreads asked Bob Eckstein:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Bob Eckstein All the cliches are true about reading as much as you can, etc. You have to write a lot and a great piece needs to marinate and gain some perspective. I never assume a piece is at it's best until I've slept on it and try to be honest with myself that it's at the best state it can be. One last note, there's nothing wrong with writing the way you talk. Too many people have two different voices.
