How do you deal with writer’s block?

Kimberly Gordon I waited a long time to publish, so I have years worth of stories waiting to get out, but if I do run into the rare day when my characters refuse to talk to me, there's usually a reason. I either need to sleep, take a break or do some research. While writing Unlucky Charm, this happened. All my characters just stopped "talking." You could hear the crickets! I needed to do some research on courtrooms and legal procedures for Hugh's trial. Once I started, everything began to flow again.
