Where did the idea for Grace Ella come from? What inspired the story?

Sharon Marie Jones The name Grace-Ella came to me as I drove to work one morning. I knew that she was just an ordinary little girl but that she would have a secret. Once I knew that this secret would be that she was a witch, Mr Whiskins came to life. The story grew from there. I loved every second of writing it. It's the kind of story I would have loved as a child. I loved anything magical - folktales, Enid Blyton's books, anything to do with fairies. All these stories that I devoured as a child influence my stories.
