Goodreads asked Robert Lancaster:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Robert Lancaster Being a loner by nature. Failing tests in school because you were daydreaming during the teacher's lecture. Forcing yourself to experience the emotions of the character you are writing and becoming physically ill at times because of it.
Those are good things, right?
Actually, it's having someone tell you how much they related to your story, and the satisfaction from knowing that they 'got it'.
