Goodreads asked Rob Armstrong:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Rob Armstrong Writer's block is a tricky thing. When you don't feel the creative juice its best to not write, but if you do it long enough you lose energy for the project and stale writing is the result. Chicken and the egg situation. My suggestion is to give yourself a set time - 20 to 30 minutes - and just write anything. Avoid the inner editor telling you its not good. If your creative energy is not coming that day after the time you set aside, just stop. Another suggestion is to use the time when your not writing to flesh out an idea or plot element in your head so that by the time you get to the "typewriter" your ready to jump through the gate and write. Again, tricky situation to overcome.
