Goodreads asked James E. Smith:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

James E. Smith Don't quit you day job. Don't follow you dream - you may genuinely not be a good writer - but don't let that stop you from writing or producing. I've spent most of my life learning music, just released a symphony, a couple, but I'm not putting my financial security on it - it's more of an outlet that makes me feel happy/complete/whole - but not a lottery ticket to financial security. Create but don't expect, and don't gamble on your and your families future.
