Goodreads asked James Vavasour:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

James Vavasour Honestly, unless I’m writing regularly, I tend to feel like I have writer’s block. Usually, I try to set a goal of 20 pages per week when I’m in writing mode. I’ve never turned out 20 pages without being proud of at least some of what I’ve written. I like to write much more material than I actually need for a project and then cut tons of that material out. I think of it almost like recording an album; if I lay down 50 tracks and cut it back to 10, hopefully, it will wind up being a pretty solid album.
