What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Susan Andersen Persevere. It sounds simplistic, but it's not. I've seen good writers give up and just walk away and honey, it may take time to get where you're going in this business, but you won't get squat if you simply quit.

It took me 8 years to get published but my husband gave me the biggest compliment of my life the day I received my umpteenth rejection and I said (ok, wailed) "Do you think I'll ever get published?" He said, "Hell, yeah. You're too stubborn to ever give up." Built me right up, I'm telling ya. He took one of my biggest character faults and turned it into a good thing.
