Yes, it's so shocking that a tragedy so large could remain unknown for so long. I enjoy writing about WWII but my main motivator is hidden history. There are many people who believe the world has forgotten them or their story. Through characters and story, perhaps we can give them the voice they lost. That's what I enjoy the most. :)

Where do you find your inspiration for these historical fiction books? The true events for these stories are not well covered in our school curriculums, but my students love the books! Is there a certain time period that peaks your interest? Are there certain stories that you feel compelled to bring attention to that have been ignored?
