The way I deal with writer's block is primarily exercising patience. I put the project down and I don't think about it, at all. I go through my daily activities and routines and I carry around a little notepad. Whenever someone or something inspires me, I jot it down. After a while I take all those pieces of information and organize them. Generally, this tapestry of inspiration allows me to circumvent the original block and go a new and better direction with the story.
