Nitzan Schwarz asked Tammy Blackwell:

I was wondering where the inspiration to the Timber Wolves Trilogy (and world) came from? (as it's my favorite YA werewolf series.)

Tammy Blackwell The inspiration came from two different places. The first, and biggest, was the teens I work with at my library. I felt like my kids and the world they live in wasn't really represented in YA, so I wrote a book featuring their personalities and community.

The world of Shifters and Seers was built on one chance encounter with my neighbor. I lived on a mile-long road with only 6 houses at the time and was out for a nightly walk when I came across a guy sitting on the edge of the road with a gun across his lap. Despite being rural Kentucky, this wasn't an everyday thing, so I asked what he was doing (and hoped it wasn't contemplating murder). He said he was waiting for the giant coyote who had been coming around his house and harassing his pets. As I continued walking (back towards my house so I didn't accidentally get shot), my mind started making all sorts of leaps and bounds. The next thing I knew, I had Alex and Jase snarling at each other in my head.
