Maybe reason you didn't like this one is that you skimmed through it.
This is a very well written book, I pre-ordered both the sequels to this and can wait to end the trilogy. Though i do believe that at the end of the day your own taste is what drives your reading habits.
Give up on the series if you must, but not SK, try the other offerings of the author, he is pretty awesome.
