Congratulations on the release of THE STRANGE MAID. What inspired THE UNITED STATES OF ASGARD series?

Tessa Gratton Hi Petra! I spent several years reading about and researching Anglo-Saxon literature and Viking culture. My love for the poetry of both cultures made me want to write about the same themes: war, sacrifice, glory, family, violence. I realized that the "warrior culture" of the Anglo-Saxons was very similar to the "warrior culture" of America, especially in 2005 when I was in graduate school. I knew I had to combine the modern American war/religious discourse with A-S and Viking ideology and voila! The United States of Asgard was born. Kinda boring answer, right? It's all about historical research. :D
