Goodreads asked D.D. Ayres:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

D.D. Ayres I read. Sometimes a block comes because I'm trying too hard. I've blocked myself into a corner. Reading how another author has come at her or his storyline often frees up my own imagination. That corner is really only slef-imposed. I have options.
The really tough times with writers' block often require me to stop writing for several days, sometimes more, and do something absolutely different. Sooner or later the story comes whispering to me like a siren.
