Goodreads asked Roy Weiler:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Roy Weiler Eight years ago when I finished my first novel 'Secrets of the Museum' I had an idea for a childrens picture book. However I didn't know an artist that I could work with. Then at a book signing for my 2012 novel 'White Ivory From The Museum' I bet Barbara Estelle. We talked and she told me she had retired and was looking for a project. I ask if she had ever done a childrens book and she sad no. As I told her about the book I had in mind she got very interested and 'Under the Teddy Bear' is the result.
Sometimes ideas for a book need to be around until the time is right. But, you keep writing other things in the mean time.
