Goodreads asked Karen A. Morrissey:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Karen A. Morrissey What I do when I get stuck writing varies. Often I find it means I don't know my plot or characters well enough. One way I resolve this is by taking the time to think and imagine. I will back up a bit and reread what I've written in an effort to immerse myself in the story.

One thing I do to avoid writers block is that I try to end a writing session while still in the middle of a scene. At the next session, I can reread what I have of the scene to immerse myself and get a running start toward resuming the scene.
