I listened to this trilogy on CD. It would probably be better to read the book. The accents were difficult for me to understand and the many different names are difficult to follow without seeing them spelled out. I would have to listen to parts over and over to try to understand and follow the story. Has anyone else found this?

I also really loved the audiobook. I know what you mean though, I would love to have a chart of all the characters to keep them straight. I have listened to most of Abercrombie’s books and really enjoy them, but I don’t love them until around 60% through when it starts coming together for me.

I loved the audiobook version and thought the voice acting was superb. It really brought the characters to life and made the story so engrossing.

Nope. I think the audiobook (Ben Elliot) was fine but there are various factors like different narrations and how comfortable you personally were with the language or the audiobook way of going through a book.
