Kirsten asked:

I heard that in some country's or states this book is banned. Why?

Mary Rekuc This book is considered to be controversial because it contains a great deal of stereotypical features of Native Americans, as well as being culturally insensitive and sexually explicit. Some schools are banning this book because of these reasons, however this book contains real-life situations that children are likely to experience at some point in their life. Thus, while parts of this book may be viewed as offensive, there are parts that should be discussed with children in order for them to gain new understandings of someone of the Native American community and see things from a new perspective.
Dylan because of the ammount of sexual stuff and mature gestures toward people and others actions. for example, very close to the beginning of the book junior admits that he reads very bad stuff
