How's the pace of this novel? This is from a guy who found Anna Karenina a pretty decently-paced book.

The perception of pace is very personal of course, because it depends on so many factors, but I think the pace is similar because of the setup of the novel. Little Women focuses on different characters in different places, and also makes a time leap of three years. Anna Karenina of course also shows different families and places and issues, so in that sense I think LW and AK have a quicker pace than for example 19th century novels which focus on one character in mostly one place (like Jane Austen's novels)
