This is the most amazing romance novel i've ever read. I felt myself as a character watching sayuri, mameha, nobu and the chairman from the side, feeling their pains and their emotions. I just wish i could have met Osome because i'm sure this book is about her or can the author confirm otherwise?

This book is a work of fiction inspired by interviews Arthur Golden conducted with real Geisha. It is inaccurate in many aspects. The author took inspiration from real Geisha and created his own interpretation around it. The book is also loosely based off of the life of one of the Geisha he interviewed named Mineko Iwasaki. For the true account of her fame and life read her book "Geisha of Gion" for an accurate depiction. I do love the writing however.
