It depends on your personality if you find it to emotional or not. I personally didn't because I find it too cheesy for me, but a lot of people cried while reading this book. So if you are into love stories and tragedies and you usually cry while reading this genre you'll probably find really emotional.

If you are in a period of your life where you are sad, I strongly advise you not to read this novel at this time because it is still a very sad book! This book really upset me and I was not well for a few months after reading it because this book makes you realize that the world is really unfair!

The book is heavy for some people but others can read it without crying with no problem, so it depends on how emotional you typically get with sad books. hope this helped :)
