Samantha's story, mentioned in this book, was oddly not published until a year later, in A Study in Scandal. It is book 3.5 in the Scandal series, a novella, and is followed by book 4 Six Degrees of Scandal.
I realize this question was posted a year ago, but some other readers might be as confused about it as I was, lol.
