Hi and thank you for your question. The way I deal with writer’s block is to step away from the computer. If my muse is quiet, no amount of time I spend in front of it will produce a piece of writing I could be happy with.
I will, instead, hop in the car by myself, put on some music, usually country, and drive. I can get inside my head and picture scenes, and hear my characters talk, trying out different dialogue. Sometimes it could take two weeks of that before I have something I feel is worth writing. In the summer months, I like to hang by my pool and daydream.
