Most, if not all of the characters are young adults or adults, but I can't say that I felt there was anything more "adult" about the storyline than there is in Hunger Games or Divergent.

There is killing, largely without blood or gore, but occasionally violent. I would feel comfortable giving this to a tween or teen.
