I think most of the Charlie Parker series could be read as stand alones, but I'd strongly recommend reading the first, Every Dead Thing, because what happens in that one is a force that propels him in the others. I believe there are currently 15 books in the series, and I just finished the 9th. Only the events in the first are always referred to. Still, you wouldn't miss enough to spoil the enjoyment of the others.
