The main character is male, and gets all of the page time, just like with the past Alcatraz books. Overwhelmingly so. It's written from his perspective, and the series is his story.
With that said, Bastille is a strong supporting female character, who gets a lot of page time, and is featured in every book in the series. Probably more so than the other supporting characters combined, except for possibly Alcatraz's grandfather.
There are other active supporting female characters that do get good page time, and critical to the plot, and have shown up in various parts of the series, but far less consistently: Shasta, Australia, Aydee, Himalaya, & Draulin.
