Terrie He got special treatment because he gave them so many good ideas about ticketing, seating, etc. They finally said, hey, we don't need any more, you've done enough and here's our thanks for the good ideas. Upgrades, special airline clubs, empty seats next to him etc. It was a real perk for his brains!!! I have a friend who did the same thing so that probably was why I was happy to read that in the book and remembered it. Don tells her at the airport.
Mr. Wakiki if you read between the lines... I think he allowed the other passengers so much that the airline separated him from them the main clue was Don said that he always was in a seat with no one next to him, unless it was croweded
