The way i took it was the force fields were only on the doors and windows, not circling the entire room. Same kinda way how when David is stuck in the under water base by Prof's force field on the door, but he was still able to shoot and crack the glass and allow water into the room.
So when firing the gun it would go through the wall and hit her, since the force fields are only on the doors and windows.

I can only think of one thing, and it's not a very good explanation, but maybe force fields work one-way? They prevented things exiting the room but not entering them, therefore, Megan could have been shot from outside.

When she entered the room there was no forcefield in place - otherwise she could not get in. presumably she understood it was a trap and triggered the gottstchalk befor the forcefields were activated.
