Is this book going to totally freak me out and keep me awake at night? I was fine with Gone Girl and Girl on the Train, but I'm afraid the whole serial killer thing might be a little too dark and creepy for me. Thoughts?

Angela The book really doesn't give too many details about what the serial killer did to the girls, which in my opinion was unfortunate because the story felt not complete. But, to answer you question, you won't be freaked out by the minimal details it does offer.
Sonjajackyahoo.Com Jack I stared it it was bouncing around I got lost in it
Malcolm Walker It should not 'freak you out and keep you awake at night'. The book is much more about the relationship between the two girls than it is about the effect that PTSD type that the serial killer has had on one of them.
Susanne No, this one won't bother you. I'm not into dark/creepy/serial killer themes either and unlike a couple others who replied, I found the balance perfect: the mystery and suspense existed without a lot of blood and gore.
Emma Agree with Maureen and Angela. One of the least scary thrillers I have read. I also wished it was a bit scarier.
Kwood You should not be freaked out by it. A couple of passages are intense, but it was a really good book.
