Does the author stick with the sword of the Spirit being a sabre type of sword or does she explain that the scripture refers to a short type, more like what I think of a dagger? Just wondering because it sounds like she is teaching using illustration of fencing or long swords and it would seem strange to be that far off from the scripture when teaching on the subject.

Anna Mary They type of sword doesn't really matter in this book. The Word of God is our sword, as Lisa explains it and her references to fencing simply back that up.
Deborah I'm only partially through, but to answer your question...she uses mixed metaphors and different imagery. It doesn't hurt though; the main thing is that lots of scripture backs up her big ideas.
