Why does Call have to go to the Iron Trial? (Other than the fact that it starts the whole story) Couldn't he have just skipped it, because I don't recall any requirement for the children to go?

AnimeOtaku They have to go so the next generations don't lose magic. I believe it's to make sure that all the kids that have magic, have children with others that have magic so that magic still runs strong. I have said magic way too many times.
