asked:
So is this an actual correspondence between the author and Frank? I was a little confused, is this fiction or non fiction?

Nonfiction. It's a collection of real letters written by real people. On paper. Sent through the mail, in envelopes.
Debbie
Non-fiction! This is a real correspondence that captures post-war history and the love of books.

Definitely non-fiction. Helen Hanff (the author) was a writer and bibiliophile in New York who began ordering books from the book shop at 84, Charing Cross Road, in London. Frank was one of the employees there, and became her chief correspondent.
Jessica
Yes, I'm pretty sure it's non-fiction!
