This can't be the end, there are too many unanswered questions and the prophesy was changed. Kricket didn't die. Who is the stronger sister and the real Empress, Kricket, who has handled every obstacle, or Astrid who has had a protected life? Would the people accept someone they know, or someone they know nothing about? Kyon would never stop looking for her, and I don't think Trey would either.

I agree with you! I feel like she ripped my heart out with that ending! We don't even know if the Cavars survived against the matchstick men that came to kill Kricket. I don't need romance in order for a story to be compelling but I would like to know who she ends up with. I agree with you that Kricket should be the leader of Ethar as well if that is what you were trying to say.
