Gwendolyn So far there is language (swears and nasty sex/body related words) and one reference to masturbation. I also skipped through a few scenes that may have had sex; I am not sure since I skipped them. If my daughter asked to read it I would ask her to wait until she was 20ish so these things could be put in better perspective (these are terrible people doing terrible things to one another), but I don't think these are necessarily reasons to never read to book. You are SUPPOSED to be disgusted
