This might be a great book depending on your Niece's preferences!
The only 'questionable' content is the following:
A few swear words (D's are as bad as it gets)
Two of the characters cuddle
There is mention of men wearing tights (that's the typical princely attire)
There are boyfriends/girlfriends and some kissing
There are a few mentions of death, including two characters who face it head on (SPOILER: one who doesn't make it)
It is a very sweet, and very cute story, and I believe most 13-15 y/o would enjoy this one.
