no, it doesn't explain any loop holes or plot twists, Guilty Pleasures should definitely be read first

I would read that one first yes, even if it was published AFTER the 1st book, it could still be a pre-quell kind of thing, it might explain some loop holes, or plot twists that didn't originally make sense in the first book :)
