Did I totally miss something? Why did Vivian think she knew Jane from somewhere else? I kept thinking it was going to be because she was actually Diane, but, she wasn't. This seemed like a total plot boo-boo to me.

This answer contains spoilers… (view spoiler)[In my opinion this "Jane" visiting Vivian in the lodge unannounced looked familiar to Vivian, because it wasn´t Jane at all. In fact it was Andrea, Diane´s sister. Therefore the familiarity. Don´t forget Vivian came to the lodge to look for (and save) her friend Diane, whom she knew from Facebook and knew about her sister only from Diane. Little did she know Diane was already murdered by her sister. And what Andrea did there? Maybe planting some evidence against Melbourne, whom she wanted to set up (and make Lizzy convict him) (hide spoiler)]
Katherine I didn't see it like that at all! To me Vivian had only ever been visited at the cabin by Anthony Melbourne or by Jane and so would only expect to see one of them if someone arrived. When it was a woman, inevitably, Vivian first mistook Diane for Jane.
Heather Did she finally realize it was because she looked so much like Diane? When she realized Vivian was Diane's sister?
