Ho scritto Storia di un giovane neolaureato che voleva trovare lavoro in un periodo in cui io stessa stavo cercando lavoro. Cercare lavoro è a tutti gli effetti un lavoro, ed è anche uno tra i più frustranti.
Ero quindi disoccupata, frustrata, demoralizzata, apatica... e semplicemente ho deciso di prendere tutto quello che stavo provando e versarlo in un racconto, che più tardi è diventato un libro. In questo modo ho dato un senso alla mia frustrazione, e l'ho impiegata in modo costruttivo, riuscendo a non farmi trascinare nel vortice dell'apatia e anzi, a trarne qualcosa di positivo.
Ne è uscito uno spaccato di quella che era la mia vita nel momento del mio primo scontro con la disoccupazione, con i suoi alti e bassi e tanta, tanta ironia.

I was then unoccupied, frustrated, discouraged... and I simply decided to take all that I was feeling and pour it into a short story, which eventually became a book. This way I made sense out of my frustration and I managed to use it productively. I didn't let apathy take hold of me and I drew something positive out of it instead.
The story is actually about my life when I crashed with unemployment for the first time. It tells of highs and lows, but it is also full of irony.
